We place a high priority on the spiritual growth and education of our children, youth and adults. Church School classes are held for children from age 3 through 7th grade from 9:30-10:30 a.m. We seek to provide a loving, affirming, nurturing, interesting, and Christ-centered environment to your children in which they can learn about the good news of Jesus Christ.
Infant - Age 2: Nursery
During worship our youngest children play and learn of a God who loves them. The Nursery is staffed by a trained church employee.
P3 - 7th Grade: Church School
Students in our very active Church School are broken up into different classes to experience the Bible stories using all their senses: making videos, cooking, Bible games, art and science projects, and whatever other creative means our teachers can imagine to encourage a lively curiosity about God and God's people. Church School takes place during worship. On Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of the month), children 2nd grade and older stay in worship to learn to participate in the rhythms of adult worship.
Acolytes- Kids light the candelabras at the start of the Worship Service. Communion- Each fall a Communion Training Class is held for children in 2nd grade and older. On Communion Sundays (first Sunday of the month), children who are in 2nd grade and older do not have Sunday School, but attend the entire Worship Service. Those children who have attended the Training Class are welcome to participate in Communion. If a child does not wish to take part or is too young, they are welcome to come forward with their parents and receive a blessing from Pastor Hawkins.
Communion Helpers- The older children are trained to help Pastor Hawkins serve Communion. They help her prepare the elements and serve the bread during the Service.
Scripture Readers- Kids read the Scripture lessons once a month.
Time With The Young Disciples- Each Sunday Worship Service includes a story time for the children with Pastor Hawkins. After their story, they leave the service for their Sunday School classes (except Communion Sundays).
